Investigations for vibration and friction torque behaviors of thrust ball bearing with self-driven textured guiding surface

Abstract In order to improve the starved lubrication condition of rolling bearings, three kinds textures, namely dimple, groove texture, and gradient were developed on guiding surface thrust ball bearings in this study. The results show that texture has one-way self-driving function liquid droplets. root mean square (RMS) value vibration acceleration textured bearing (GGB) decreased by 49.1% kurtosis 24.6% compared with non-textured (NB) due directional spreading effect textures oil. frequency domain analysis showed mainly suppressed medium high-frequency energy vibration, GGB was reduced most 65.3% 48%, respectively. addition, whether grease is sufficiently sheared a large impact oil effect, friction torque could decrease 10.5% NB condition. Therefore, self-driven can effectively thus reduce torque, which promising application prospect.
